The Savoy Hotel is the only hotel on Ocean Drive right on the sand with private beach access, situated on a lush, two-acre paradise that spans from the street to the beach. For nightlife, guests can step out the front door and walk a few blocks to the shops, cafes and nightclubs of the busy Ocean Drive promenade. However, the Savoy, unlike other SoBe hotels, sits at a quieter end of the neighborhood, thus ensuring the partying won't keep guests up until the wee hours of the morning, unless they are also engaging in the frolics. What's more, the European-style hotel is close to the Art Deco Historic District and Wolfsonian Museum.
For lounging and pampering, the Savoy provides two outdoor swimming pools encircled by palm trees and tropical foliage and two sundecks with chaise lounges overlooking the ocean. Guests are serviced by a poolside bar and gym. The Savoy doesn't have its own restaurant, but patrons can find plenty of cafes and other eateries in SoBe.
The Savoy's 75 suites, which start at 575 square feet, come compete with contemporary or Florida décor, tiled floors, all- white bedding, goose-down comforters, microwave ovens, refrigerators, and living rooms with dining tables and sofas. Additional amenities include two telephones with dial-up Internet access, safes, bathrobes, and marble bathrooms stocked with beach towels.
The Savoy's guests are business and leisure travelers who want to stay close to the trendy South Beach, but far enough away so they can get a good night's sleep. In addition, while the beach north of the hotel is popular with tourists, the Second Street beach one block south is packed with locals, models and people wanting to experience multicultural Miami and gawk at the topless sunbathers.
